A recent report by the organization Transport and Environment highlights that the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) by airlines worldwide is progressing at an insufficient pace. Currently, SAF accounts for only 1% of total aviation fuel consumption, and its high cost—ranging from two to five times that of conventional fuel—is a key factor limiting its implementation. Additionally, the lack of investment from major oil companies is hindering its expansion and making the transition to more sustainable aviation more difficult.
